Catching up

Another bonus for my business trip to San Diego was I got to catch up with an old friend. I went to high school with Amber, but we haven't really spent a whole lot of time together since then. Little things off and on, and now she is married with a little boy named Kyan in San Diego. Since we are both in CA, we always try to catch each other on a drive to Oregon or something, but usually miss each other. But this time it worked! She picked me up after work and we headed to the beach, something I wanted to do while I was in San Diego. We had quite the adventure chasing little Kyan all over the place. He's really big for his age and FULL of energy and spunk. Quite a riot really. Here he is in action after spotting the water. Here he is running with Amber trailing very patiently behind.
Here he is walking with mom on the beach. And here he is after falling in the water...he's a little concerned...not sure if being soaking wet is good or bad.But soon he was very happy after finding an exciting stick to play with. And of course, Amber & I got a self portrait at the beach. After Kyan was tired out from running up and down the beach, Amber and I got some good catch up time while he rested. Then we went out to some yummy Mexican food for dinner. It's great to catch up with old friends. I've been doing that a lot this summer, and it never seems to get old :)

I'll leave you with some of my favorite close up beach shots. Enjoy!
