Beach & Buddies

One of my weekends in Oregon, that which was not taken up by weddings and birthday parties, I went to the Oregon Coast with my dear friends Katie and Mary. I went to high school and college with this awesome girls, and I don't get to see them hardly enough.

We all drove out to Lincoln City, a small beach town on the coast of Oregon, on Saturday morning. It was about a 2 hour car ride, but it was lots of fun. We greeted each other quickly and then were on our way. I don't get to see the girls too often, but it doesn't take us long to get into our old banter and have a grand time laughing with each other about nothing. We can read of road signs and find hilarity in it almost every time! I couldn't do this with anyone else...Except maybe Jessica, or I would be thought insane! (The rest of you might be thinking that now...)

So here we are at our hotel after 2 hours of fun in the car...
Since we couldn't check into our hotel until 4, we did some outlet shopping and then we had lunch at a cute little place called the Wildflower Grill. It looked like a house with a beautiful wildflower garden in front.

After lunch we finally got to check in to our hotel. Then we went and laid on the beach to nap, relax and talk. Good times catching up. And of course, good times being silly. Katie and I were making shapes out of the hard first layer of sand. Here's her fish!
Katie and Mary both wanted to have a craft project making ships-in-a-bottle, but after we were done with our beaching, almost all the stores were closed and there were none to be found. So then we decided to go get some craft projects of our own at JoAnn's. We also got a movie and some pizza and headed back to the room to veg out. Turned out we were all so tired, that we ate, watched the movie, and crashed.

The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and came back to Portland. Good times!
