Wes and I started watching this show called the Walking Dead. It's about zombies of course, and zombies have been the theme of multiple movies in the past few years. As we were going to bed after watching an episode, it struck me...babies are like zombies. Here's why....
The walk. Look closely. Babies learning to walk, and zombies both kinda walk with legs spread a, arms out and head and torsos wobbling.
The sounds. Zombies don't speak English. Neither do babies. You might argue that babies are speaking a language of sorts, where as zombies are language-less, but seriously...listen to your baby. Then watch a zombie movie. You might be surprised.
Sense of style. I think zombies and babies care about the same amount about their clothing and appearance.
Here comes the zinger....Waking them up. It is not good to shoot guns, or make loud noises around babies or zombies. You will wake them...and then it's all over.
As we went to bed after the show, I found myself feeling afraid. Don't make a loud sound, keep the lights low! We don't want to wake the baby! Given that those are also the same things you do to prevent zombies from finding you, and given that I felt just as strongly that I did not want to be eaten by a zombie, nor woken by my daughter, I realized that zombies and babies have more in common than I thought.
