Well our first day in Costa Rica was rather uneventful...just full of travel. But it was lots of fun. Here are Wes and I bright and early the day after the wedding awaiting our plane at the airport.
Leaving the hotel, getting on the plane, and everything all was so fast that we hardly had any time to contemplate the fact that we were married. Once we were on the plane we sat...then looked at each other...and said, "We got married yesterday...and it was so much fun!" Then we recounted memories to each other and moments that we had separately before hand. We were still reeling from all the excitement and couldn't believe how much fun it all was. And we were in store for even more in the next couple of weeks. One of the coolest things about this trip was that it was all organized and planned by someone other than me! Wes made all the travel plans, and we had someone each step of the way shuttling us to the next location. In retrospect it was kinda fancy and not very adventuresome, but it was nice after all the wedding planning to relax and let the details be taken care of.
Here is our first driver at the airport waiting for us. Neither of us ever had someone waiting at the airport with our name on a paper, so we were really excited about that. We made our guy hold it up just a little longer so we could get a picture.
Our driver, a tico (that's what you call Costa Rican's), took us to our hotel in San Jose. It is a beautiful old Victorian house converted to a hotel called Hotel Grano de Oro. I got some nice pictures on the way back in the day time. But this was the room we were greeted with when we arrived.
The room even had it's own little courtyard.
With beautiful flowers!
We were bummed we were so exhausted when we arrived...and we had to leave by 6am the following morning...so we didn't get to enjoy our little courtyard. But it was a wonderful welcome to beautiful Costa Rica.
quiero ver mas!
