We spent Christmas Eve at Wes' parents, and Christmas day at my parents. Unfortunatley, we forgot the camera on Christmas Eve, but Wes' family was with us on Christmas too :)
My parents cooked an amazing feast for Christmas dinner. Here's the table setting...you can see the snow falling in the window!
We started out with butternut squash soup, topped with chantelle mushrooms. YUM! Then we moved on to the main course including prime rib roast, accompanied by fresh homemade whipped cream with horseradish, a green salad with honey mustard dressing, garlic mashed potatoes, and purple cabbage. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Here's a shot of my dad carving the giant roast.

For dessert we had pears which were poached in reisling, topped with fresh whipped cream with a touch of nutmeg, and the syrup made from the reisling poaching water, which also contained candied lemon peel. MMM! It was delicous.

Here's the whole crowd with our full tummies. It was a wonderful time of good food and family. And finally, here's the beautiful White Christmas view we enjoyed throughout the day!

Brrrrr! Good thing you had all that delicious food to offset the cold!
ReplyDeleteAll the food sounds great (I translated it all to Evan who is on my lap :) ). I can't believe how much snow there is! Seeing the snow makes me want to go sledding and then drink hot chocolate :).
